One of the likely reasons Modest Mouse grew from a power trio to an octet was to give Brock more breathing room. Photo by Joe McCabe, heyreverb.com. Tickets are $39.75 – $45 and go on sale March 3 at 10 a.m. The band played Colorado last year on a double-bill with emo rock favorites Brand New. The band will play the Fillmore Auditorium on June 6. via livenation.com. Modest Mouse, Portland’s favorite alt-rock weirdos, are setting off for a 2017 spring tour, including a show in Denver. From our review of that show:
…instead of turning on the auto-pilot, Brock improvised a little, especially during “Shit in Your Cut” off last year’s “Strangers to Ourselves” and the timeless “Perfect Disguise” from Modest Mouse’s 2000 major label debut, “The Moon and Antarctica.”
If he messed up, the audience definitely didn’t notice and the seven-piece band backing him up was able to rectify the situation. Oh, and to make each song sound massive. FILE: Modest Mouse at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield on July 10, 2010.
