La tine – What’s Up versuri

Mi-as dori sa-ti cant piesa asta intr-o zi Versuri What’s Up – La tine
In tabloul vietii mele aveam nuante de gri
Tu privesti in ochii mei
Zi ca si tu ma vrei
Si tot ce mi-a mai ramas
E sa fac primul pas
Toate drumurile duc la tineee
Si ma gandesc ca poate
Intr-o zi vei fi cu mine
Toate drumurile duc la tineee
Si ma gandesc ca poate
Intr-o zi vei fi cu mineee. Dar pacat ca toate aste-s in capul meu
Cand sunt langa tine
Imi gasesc vorbele mai greu. Versuri What’s Up

Denver just took a big step toward locking down that huge music festival

Fans at day two of Riot Fest Denver in 2015. “It’s an exciting opportunity for Denver,” Katy Strascina, the executive director for the Office of Special Events stated in a release. The festival would be produced solely by Superfly, the company that puts on San Francisco’s Outside Lands and Manchester, Tenn.’s Bonnaroo, one of the nation’s largest music festivals. The next step will be contract negotiations between Superfly and the city. (Seth McConnell, The Denver Post)
The City of Denver’s Office of Special Events has recommended moving forward in the process to host a massive music festival set in Denver’s Overland Park Golf Course. Concert promoter Superfly has also confirmed that Denver is its choice for the festival, taking the possibility of a Westminster music festival off the table. Though they had initially worked together on the proposal, AEG will no longer be involved in producing the event. If a contract is agreed upon, it will be presented to City Council to be voted on, which will ultimately determine whether or not the festival happens. “We look forward to continued community engagement through the next phase of the process to ensure that local interests and values continue to play a part in the planning of the festival.”
Modeled after San Francisco’s Outside Lands, the proposed annual three-day festival would begin in 2018 and is projected to attract 30,000-60,000 people per day. “We have worked with Superfly for many years and know that their high standards for producing exceptional events will result in a festival that Denver and Colorado will be proud of,” Chuck Morris, the CEO of AEG Presents, said in a news release. From gospel to Gorillaz, Mavis Staples’ songs find new souls to fortify

Founded in 1991, the honor has recognized musicians and activists alike who forged a lasting legacy with their work. It will likely be Staples’ latest in a long line of musical partnerships that have lent her career the intrigue, depth and longevity that the e-Chievement award will mark. My band and I always love it here,” Staples wrote. It’s an honor well-deserved. “I think there’s a good chance Ani and I will put something together.” “I go into all sessions with people I love and admire the same, and the only difference is the songs,” Staples said in an email. We haven’t been to Denver in a few years. Staples’ generous spirit continues in 2017. When you can count Martin Luther King Jr. Staples lent her voice — a burly soul snarl that’s somehow comforting and tempestuous at once — to not only her generation, but to each thereafter who’s needed a champion, from the Southern blacks of the civil rights movement to those disenfranchised by American politics in 2017. and Bonnie Raitt as fans of your work, what more validation do you need? The relief-from-grief of her shows is a hallmark of gospel and the blues, one she summed up in the title track of her 2010 Grammy Award-winning album, “You Are Not Alone.”
“I feel like my family and I were kind of in a league of their own,” she wrote. To do so, she’s leaned on collaborators throughout her career who have taken her voice to unlikely realms. It puts Staples in company with past recipients like Peter, Paul and Mary, Judy Collins, Joan Baez, Jane Goodall and former President Jimmy Carter. I was comfortable and taken by their creativity and level of detail, so I was on board.”
Like reading the Old Testament on an iPhone, hearing Staples on these tracks is a little disorienting. From there, she slipped into soul, performing with Curtis Mayfield in the ’70s, and releasing two albums with Prince in the late ’80s and early ’90s. When the folk music revolution swelled in the 1960s, Staples made the uneasy transition from gospel to secular to perform at the 1964 Newport Folk Festival with the likes of Joan Baez and Bob Dylan (who would casually propose marrying her soon after). That might have been her least likely collaboration yet — until Friday, that is, when Damon Albarn’s animated pop band Gorillaz will release its new album, which features Staples on a track with rapper Pusha T. (Provided by eTown)
Two Grammys, a star-studded birthday party, an HBO documentary — at this point in her career, you’d think Mavis Staples would be tired of the pomp and circumstance. For longevity’s sake, Staples’ 60-plus year career is unrivaled, especially considering there isn’t a hint that it’s going away. “It’s hard to come up with someone outside of my family who stands out as instructive in my career, although I value the camaraderie from so many throughout the years.”

On Friday, Difranco — who will release her new album, “Binary,” on June 9 — will join Staples to fete her eTown honor. (“I’ll stop singing when I have nothing left to say,” Staples said in her recent HBO documentary “Mavis!” “That ain’t gonna happen.”) But to remain relevant from decade to decade isn’t just a feat of endurance; it’s also one of talent, imagination and humility. “Sure, eTown will be special. On April 28, eTown will present Staples with its Lifetime e-Chievement award in a live taping with trailblazing singer-songwriter Ani DiFranco at Denver’s Paramount Theatre. At just 13 years old, she was the finest singer in the preeminent gospel group in Chicago in the 1950s, a time when the city was an altar for the genre, even as her father, who played guitar, subtly introduced the blues guitar into the mix. Surrounded by a cacophony of synths and erratic drum pads, her contralto peeks out sparingly, to echo familiar words of encouragement and warning:
“I give you power, but I gotta be free.” “Change coming / You’d best be ready for it.”

Staples’ first collaboration will always be her most significant. I wasn’t familiar with Gorillaz until I met them. “In these tricky times, when it seems as if we’re actually losing ground on some of the progress we’ve made as a society, Mavis Staples can bring us all together, lift us up and help us celebrate along the way,” eTown co-founder and host Nick Forster said in a statement. Her Staple Singers family band played a volatile style of music that tackled the church’s big questions — death, salvation and how best to live until then — with rapturous insights that left parishioners literally shouting, the ultimate gospel music refrain. One more distinction couldn’t hurt. In January, she released a track called “I Give You Power” with art-rock outfit Arcade Fire. Mavis Staples will receive eTown’s Lifetime e-Chievement award at her concert with Ani Difranco at the Paramount Theatre on April 28. Staples reinvented herself time and again to match new generations’ whims, so that her always-relevant message of equality could always sound relevant. “Arcade Fire knew our music, they were familiar with The Staple Singers, and so that kind of helped get us off to a jump start.

Highly Suspect – Little One

And it stays awake to haunt me
Hey, little one
How long must I talk about my pain in these songs?
I’m so scared of what this could have been
How long, how long?
How long?
Hey, little one
It doesn’t make a difference
It’s raining, it’s sunny
I have trouble going anywhere at all
My little one
The places I took you, they seem so fucking empty
How long must I justify my pain through these songs?
Especially my own bedroom
I’m so scared of what this could have been
I’m cornered in fire so break out the secrets
I’m so scared of what this could have been
I love you, I’m leaving; so long
I know that today I lost my only friend
I don’t care about anything at all
It doesn’t make a difference
So passed out, black out, drunk in another bathroom stall
I know that today I lost my only friend
Hey, little one
It’s raining, it’s sunny
I’m tired, you’re angry, and everyone looks blurry
I don’t care about anything at all
I know that today I lost my only friend
I hope you know that you were worth it all along
I’m so scared of what this could have been
I know that today I lost my only little one (my little one)

Lucy Rose – Is This Called Home

[Outro]

To help me feel pure
[Verse 1]
Let me hold your hand
You fall to the ground
Am I the monster?
Let me hold your hand
Let me hold your hand
Let me hold your hand
Let me hold your hand
But you’re holding on
[Chorus]

[Chorus]
Oh, not for me
And you hear them coming like an army loud
[Verse 2]
This can’t be home
Did I deserve all of those words?
‘Cause I still bleed
Now my head is sore

When you’re running out
No time for packing
When you’re running out
And no one’s around
Land turns to dust
Let me hold your hand
Is this called home?
Let me hold your hand
Land turns to dust
Let me hold your hand
Time’s running out for us
Is this called home?

This can’t be home

Young M.A – JOOTD (feat. Monica)

When I wanna be all alone
Hit that decline button
I’m quick to block something
Why you doing all that, you ain’t even all that
I got this blunt, now I need a light
She text me like why you playing these games?
When I wanna be all alone
When I gotta be all alone
Bitch I’m comfortable
If I got head from ya I’m deadin’ ya
Nike slippers and sweatpants
It’s just one of them days

It’s just one of them days
I’m moody, I don’t want no groupies
I can never fall off, bitch I just fall back
Somebody’s girlfriend blowing up my cellular
That’s on the regular
They don’t really love me, they just wanna do me and use me
Since I ain’t the one
Just one of those days
I’m quick to block a thot
When I gotta be all alone
[Hook: Monica]
It’s just one of them days
‘Cause hoes get ignored every day B
When I wanna be all alone
It’s just one of them days
I don’t wanna talk to Kim, Jessica, and Julie
I just let her argue with herself, I don’t talk back
It’s just one of them days
When I gotta be all alone
When I gotta be all alone
[Hook: Monica]
If I don’t really fuck with you then I’m dubbing you
It’s just one of them days
No I don’t need a wife
I’m just stacking this cheese up like a Lunchable
When I gotta be all alone
It’s just one of them days
It’s just one of them days

It’s just one of them days
Let me be in my zone, let me be on my own
Airplane mode on these hoes
It’s just one of them days
I ain’t in the mood for no coochie
Thought I was the one, I’m like nah, why you thought that?
Put her on the blocked list, now she can’t call back
When I gotta be all alone
It’s just, one of those day-ay-ay-ays
It’s just one of them days
It’s just one of them days
I don’t wanna be bothered baby, my mind running
You know I’m stuck in my ways, why you seem so amazed?
It’s just one of them days
It’s just one of them days
It’s just one of them days
When I wanna be all alone
When I wanna be all alone
When I wanna be all alone
You keep worrying about me, girl you need a life

I don’t mind hitting that block button
Now she in her feelings like fuck it go be alone
(are you done? are you dumb?)
[Hook: Monica]
It’s just one of them days
It’s just one of them days
When I wanna be all alone
Yeah I flop a lot, don’t care if she hot or not
When I wanna be all alone
It’s just one of them days
It’s just one of them days
[Verse 1: Young M.A]
[Verse 2: Young M.A]
When I gotta be all alone

Now girl are you finished or you done?
Man she’ll be aight
When I gotta be all alone

Trace Cyrus – Lights Out (Lyric Video)

Girl, you know I will keep it
She had a heart but she lost it
[Verse 1]
Now there’s no turning back
Designer clothes and all the latest fashion
She’s from a small town but she moved to the city
She’s from a small town but she moved to the city
Please don’t call me a friend when we’re turning the lights out
[Chorus]

She’s got on Saint Laurent when she hits the club
She’s from a small town but she moved to the city
Are we even together?
Tear drops still fall from the sky
We break up then we make up then we do it again
We break up then we make up then we do it again
This girl tastes stronger than vodka
This West Coast love affair
We break up then we make up then we do it again
[Chorus]
She’s from a small town but she moved to the city
Please don’t call me a friend when we’re turning the lights out
Please don’t call me a friend when we’re turning the lights out
Please don’t call me a friend when we’re turning the lights out
Do you want this for real?
[Bridge]
So please don’t hit me with another alibi, girl
We break up then we make up then we do it again
Designer clothes and all the latest fashion
Girl, I want you to live with me
This West Coast love affair
Please don’t call me a friend when we’re turning the lights out
YSL shades when her vision is a blur

This West Coast love affair
We break up then we make up then we do it again
We break up then we make up then we do it again
Designer clothes and all the latest fashion
She was floating away
We break up then we make up then we do it again
She’s from a small town but she moved to the city

She rocks Chanel when she’s riding her black Benz

What’s the point if we’re just a lie?
Cause I want this forever
We break up then we make up then we do it again

[Chorus]
We break up then we make up then we do it again
Dead rose petals fall on the ground
This West Coast love affair
My heart breaks when you’re not around
Drunk downtown with a gang of fake friends
We break up then we make up then we do it again
Every weekend on the dance floor
From the first time she kissed me
This girl tastes sweeter than whiskey
When you fall, I’ll pick you up
I just hate to watch ya start drifting away
Designer clothes and all the latest fashion
Let me pick up the pieces
[Verse 2]
This West Coast love affair
The clear diamond turned to black
Designer clothes and all the latest fashion

Rise Against – The Violence

Let’s pray for rain now
Are we not good, good enough?
[Verse 1]
Or was it all a dream?
‘That can never happen here’ we used to say
Have these wars come to our doorstep?
To become something greater
To become something greater
An evolution overdue
We travel back

And this is not a dream
To what we take
Has this moment finally come?
Pull the ripcord

Are we not good, good enough?
And sleeping through our lives
Are we not good, good enough or was it all a dream?
We’re talking in our sleep
Are we not brave enough? Is the violence in our nature just the image of our maker? Are we not good enough?
The rocks are coming loose just at the edge
Or maybe we’re a book without an end?
[Chorus]
To wash these roads away
And set in motion something new
Than the violence in our nature?
Than the violence in our nature?
Do nothing but show our heart
[Chorus]
Or was it all a dream?

And into the light
Are we not good enough? Are we not brave enough?
Forgetting what we know
Fight the current
Are we not brave enough? Are we not good enough?
Dancing on the crumbling precipice
Or was it all a dream?
The bombs are getting closer everyday
We step from our shadows
[Chorus]
[Bridge]

We’re awake and in control
Are we not brave enough? Are we not good enough?
We’re not stories, we’re not actors
Than the violence in our nature?
To become something greater

We need a storm

So can we break this mold?
To a predetermined fate, are we condemned?
Same roads reducing destinations
[Verse 2]
Are we not good enough?

Are we not good enough? Are we not brave enough? Is the violence in our nature just the image of our maker?
Get away!
Are we not brave enough?
Are we not good enough? Are we not brave enough? Is the violence in our nature just the image of our maker?
Are we drowning? Are we dead?
Let’s get off track and wander far
Are we crying? Are we laughing?
We dream of the places where we never die

OneRepublic – Let’s Hurt Tonight

I told myself, "this could get rough"
Let’s say all of the things that we couldn’t before
If this love is pain, then honey let’s love tonight
And when, when I was off, which happened a lot
If this love is pain, well darling, let’s hurt, oh tonight
So I’ll hit the lights and you lock the doors
But we can’t cut it from out these veins, no
They say love is pain, well darling, let’s hurt tonight
You came to me and said, "that’s enough"
When, when we came home
So you hit the lights and I’ll lock the doors
Oh I know that this love is pain
Don’t walk away, don’t roll your eyes
Oh, I know you’re feeling insane
Tell me all of the things that you couldn’t before
I told myself, "this could be rough"
They say love is pain, well darling, let’s hurt tonight
Worn to the bones
They say love is pain, well darling, let’s hurt tonight
I’ll hit the lights and you lock the doors
Tell me something that I can explain, oh
We ain’t leaving this room ’til we bust the mold
Worn to the bones
Don’t walk away, don’t roll your eyes
When, when you came home
Won’t walk away, won’t roll my eyes

Locksmith – Sanity

I got this feelin,’ I got this feelin’
I got this feelin, I got this feelin
You told me it’s good, but I know that somethin’ is buildin’
I know that hatred is never the answer , the cancer is bleeding through all of their speech
But what if you Black & you half Middle East
I got this feelin,’ I got this feelin’

They want me to stop, but I know somethin’ is buildin’
We are so disconnected that we disrespect & just look at each other with spite
Life is a rifle assault, not a privilege
They want me to stop, but I know somethin’ is buildin’
Watch where you go cause there’s two enemies
Ain’t good his homies they holdin’ contempt
A part of me wants to be calm, but it’s buildin
Watch what you say if you wanna survive
Searching for meaning, but no one replies
Caught in a fire cause no one is exempt
And it’s the fuel for the fire for those who conspire to keep what they have out of site

Picture frame with a missin’ name
He wanted to help the neighborhood that he grew in so he joined the boys in blue with the badge
On a the night stand in a mothers’ room
Now there’s a mother & daughter that grieves for a father who is murdered because of resent
Raised on a path only a few understand
How can you cope if you livin deprived

[Verse 1]
You told me it’s good, but I know that somethin’ is buildin’
How can you vote when you know it’s a lie
Type out a tweet that won’t fully suffice
[Chorus]
How can you kill & then sleep through the night
Raised on a path on a feud with his fam
They wanna try ridicule dude for his plan
I got this feelin’, I got this feelin’ (8X)
How you react to an act with a cynical tact is the reason why your spirit is breached
Pray for my niggas whose still in the street
[Chorus]
We are so lost it’s scary
In the mothers’ womb was a seed that would grow to a man
Write you a speech that won’t bring back a life
That’s just the fuel for the fire for those that conspire to keep what they have out of reach
If you don’t see that, then how can you sleep
I got this feelin’, I got this feelin’ (4X)
I look at my hood and I know how niggas is dealin’

That’s double the reason to kill him
I can no longer keep yieldin
I know the target is aimin at me
I look at my hood and I know how niggas is dealin’

Meant to be cautionary if you cross the barrier then you’ll see what’s the extent

I look at my hood and I know how niggas is dealin’
I got this feelin’, I got this feelin’ (4X)
[Alternative Chorus]
Fuck it, I said I just wanna be free
The problem is what is instilled in
They only talk about half of the problem
Every loss it varies cause we all need a reason to vent
Life is a rifle assault, not a privilege
They want me to stop, but I know somethin’ is buildin’
I got this feelin,’ I got this feelin’
[Verse 2]
You told me it’s good, but I know that somethin’ is buildin’
